This page explains, in plain words, what data is processed when you visit oguzhankaraguzel.com, why, and which cookies are used. It combines the privacy notice required by Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) with the site’s cookie policy.

Who is responsible
This is the personal website of Oğuzhan Karagüzel. Under KVKK, I am the data controller.

What data I process
- Contact form: When you fill in the form, your name, email address and message are stored, along with the page the form was sent from and the time it was sent.
- On-site statistics: Which page was viewed, its title, how long it stayed open, and clicks on a few marked links or buttons. These records never hold your name, email address or IP address. If you allowed analytics cookies, your visits are tied together by a randomly generated visitor ID (
elv_vid); if you did not, every view is counted on its own. - Google Analytics: Only if you allow it. Google collects usage data such as the pages you visit, device and browser details and approximate location.
- Server logs: As on any web server, technical logs containing IP address, browser details and request time may be kept for a short time for security and debugging.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. These are all the cookies this site uses:

Apart from these, your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (elevare-theme); it is never sent to the server.
Nothing but the necessary cookie is set until you allow it. You can change your choice at any time; when you withdraw consent, the visitor cookie is removed on the next page you open:
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary cookie, your choice can’t be remembered and the banner will show on every visit.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics (Google): Loaded only if you allow it. The data is processed on Google’s servers outside Türkiye. Details: Google Privacy Policy.
- YouTube (Google): Videos on the site don’t load until you press play. When you do, the video opens from youtube-nocookie.com and YouTube may process data under its own rules.
- jsDelivr: The cookie banner’s files are loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which technically receives your IP address. jsDelivr does not use cookies.
- External links: When you follow a link to my social media accounts or to another site, that site’s own policies apply. There are no social media plugins or tracking pixels on this site.
Purpose and legal basis
- Replying to your message: Contact form data is processed on the basis of my legitimate interest in being able to reply to you (KVKK Art. 5/2-f).
- Remembering your cookie choice: Necessary for the site to work; based on legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5/2-f).
- On-site statistics and Google Analytics: Based on the explicit consent you give in the cookie banner (KVKK Art. 5/1). The transfer of Google Analytics data abroad is also based on that consent (KVKK Art. 9).
- Server logs: Based on legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and fixing errors (KVKK Art. 5/2-f).
How long data is kept
- Form messages: At most 1 year after your request is resolved; I’ll delete them sooner if you ask.
- On-site statistics: Kept as aggregate numbers that don’t identify you.
- Cookies: For the durations in the table above; you can delete them from your browser at any time.
- Google Analytics: According to the data retention setting of the Google Analytics account.
- Server logs: Kept briefly and deleted regularly.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK you may:
- learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it,
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used accordingly,
- know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom it is transferred,
- ask for it to be corrected if incomplete or inaccurate, deleted or destroyed where the conditions are met, and for those third parties to be notified,
- object to a result against you that arises solely from automated analysis,
- claim compensation if you suffer damage from unlawful processing.

When I change anything on the site that affects how data is processed, I update this page. The date at the top shows the latest update.
